Trans is Beautiful

Trans people are, and always have been, part of every society, throughout history and across cultures. Yet around the world, they continue to face discrimination, violence and barriers to essential healthcare.

These challenges are fuelled by stigma, exclusion and policies that deny people the right to live safely and authentically.

- 64% of trans and gender-diverse people have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Jama Network

- Transgender people are 13 times more likely to be living with HIV than other adults, driven in part by stigma and barriers to healthcare. WHO

- 72% of transgender people surveyed reported experiencing stigma and discrimination in the previous six months. UNAIDS

This is not inevitable. It is the result of systems that can and must be changed.

Supporting trans-led organisations helps protect their human rights and create a world where trans people are safe, supported and able to thrive.

Trans United Europe is a trans BPOC-led organisation working to improve the position of trans BPOC people across Europe. Their work focuses on access to healthcare, economic empowerment and advocacy, with particular attention to those facing multiple forms of marginalisation.

Through the Trans United Clinic, they work to improve access to trans-specific healthcare and HIV and STI prevention. They also support trans sex workers, LGBTIQ+ refugees and undocumented trans people, and work to improve access to employment and education.

Alongside this, Trans United Europe advocates at local, national and European levels to improve the rights and position of trans BPOC communities and ensure their voices are represented in the decisions that affect them.
